URL Expander

Reveal the real destination behind a shortened or tracking link before you click it.

The URL is fetched from our server (an arbitrary cross-origin fetch isn't possible directly from your browser) — the target site sees this server's request, not your IP, and nothing about the check is stored.

How it works

  1. 1

    Paste the short link

    bit.ly, t.co, a tracking redirect, etc.

  2. 2

    Redirects are followed

    Server-side, up to 10 hops.

  3. 3

    See the real destination

The final URL you would actually land on.

FAQ

Does my browser follow the redirects itself?
No — following a shortened link's redirects from your browser hits the same CORS restriction as any other cross-origin fetch, so Tool4U's own server follows the hops and reports back only the final destination. The URL isn't logged or stored.
Is this safer than clicking the link directly?
It reveals the destination URL without your browser ever loading it, which is useful for sanity-checking a suspicious link — but it doesn't scan the destination for malware, so treat an unfamiliar result with the same caution as any unknown link.
How is this different from Redirect Chain Viewer?
Same underlying check — this page just surfaces the single final destination front-and-center; Redirect Chain Viewer shows every intermediate hop for debugging a redirect setup.
