FAQ
- What is the difference between margin and markup?
- Margin is profit as a percentage of revenue (sale price); markup is profit as a percentage of cost. The same sale can have a 40% margin but a 67% markup — they are easy to mix up, which is why this tool shows both.
- What if my cost is higher than revenue?
- You will get a negative profit and margin, correctly signaling a loss on that sale.
- Does it handle currency?
- No currency symbol is added — enter revenue and cost in whatever currency you're working in; the percentages are currency-agnostic.
