FAQ
- What does "Normalize" actually do?
- It finds the loudest sample across the whole file and scales the entire file up so that peak sits just under full scale (98%) — the loudest part gets as loud as possible without clipping.
- Will a custom percentage above 100% distort the audio?
- Samples are clamped to the valid range to avoid harsh digital clipping, but pushing well past 100% will still audibly flatten loud peaks — start closer to 100% and adjust by ear.
- Does this tool upload my audio anywhere?
- No — volume adjustment happens entirely in your browser with the Web Audio API.
